Izzy won the CWTC final.  Congratulations to her, Sylvia Caley, Julie Fajgelzon and Pamela Nisbet (Pamela won it last year as well.)

Jeff's squad knocked off Molson 'by 10 or so.' [Edit: 14 (if Dan's numbers 4+29-19 are right) plus another potential 11 on a probably successful (per Dan Korbel) appeal]  It'll be fun to kibitz them tomorrow on BBO.  Congratulations to Waldemar Frukacz, Piotr Klimowicz, HervĂ© Chatagnier, Rene Pelletier, David Sabourin and Jeff for making it this far.  Just one more match to win ...

I chatted briefly with Jeff and he raved about the performance of his teammates, particularly HervĂ© Chatagnier and Rene Pelletier.

He also told me that he and Scooter (David Sabourin, his partner for the event) were IN against Tolson (ugh) OUT against Bart (last match of Round Robin) and OUT in the 4th quarter (66-11) against Bowman.  Not exactly what I was hoping to hear.  Still, they played the first 2 quarters against Molson (eking out a 4 IMP advantage) and if they play well tomorrow, any lack of consistency earlier in the tournament will surely be forgiven, and perhaps even forgotten.  This analysis reminds me of my previous discussion with Stacy about how clients are perceived by other bridge players.  Those standards don't just apply to clients, of course.

(Before you get the idea that I'm beating up on Jeff, it's important to note that of the 10 people who played in last year's final, only 1, Jeff Smith, is back this year.)
